At the end of June, Bugatti claim a top speed record for a mass production car with a record average speed of 431.072 kph using a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. This speed record record-breaking speed the Ultimate Aero's made by American companies, Shelby Supercars, 412.28 kph printed in 2007. Earlier, in 2005 Bugatti Veyron is also a record speed with 408.30 kph.
Record-breaking effort was conducted in a test circuit EHRA-owned Volkswagen Lessien along 21 km to the test driver Pierre-Henri Raphanel. The average top speed is achieved by two trials. In the first experiment with the anti clockwise direction, the Veyron Super Sport is achieved speed 427.933 kph. And in his second attempt to run clockwise, the Veyron Super Sport reach speeds 434.211 kph.
Veyron Super Sport plan will be produced only limited, not more than 30 units, and from generation to final production Veyron 16.4. It makes the entire car production 8.0 liter W16 engine with quad-turbocharger reaches 300 units since its introduction in 2005.
Super Sport Veyron gets carbon fiber trim body weight by 50 kg compared to the standard Veyron. The engine also re-formulated by the Bugatti so that its power boosted from 987 hp to 1183 hp. Torque is also increased from 1243 Nm to 1493 Nm. This makes the Veyron Super Sport can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 kph in 7.3 seconds and 0-300 kph in 15.0 seconds.
In terms of aerodynamics, the Veyron Super Sport is also getting some new touches on his body. Some vent refined to give less aerodynamic drag. In the legs, suspension upgraded to support its ability to increase dramatically.
